ACOS6 Secure Access Module Microprocessor Smart Cards

The ACOS6 Secure Access Module (SAM) is designed as a general cryptogram computation module or as a security authentication module for ACOS contact client cards - ACOS3, ACOS6, ACOS7 and ACOS10, and common contactless client cards - DESFire, DESFire EV1, Ultralight-C and Mifare Plus. The ACOS6-SAM card securely stores cryptographic keys and uses these keys to compute cryptograms for other applications or smart cards. Using this, terminals need not know the master key(s) of an application, considering that the keys never leave the ACOS6-SAM.

The ACOS6-SAM card can perform a number of functions, including: Mutual Authentication: To guarantee the authenticity of the terminal and the client card; Secure Messaging: To ensure that the data transmission between the card and terminal/server is secured and not susceptible to eavesdropping, replay attack and unauthorized modification; Purse MAC Computation: To authenticate and ensure data integrity of data and commands that are transferred into the card and vice versa; Key Diversification: To enable diversified entry of keys without exposing the master key; Secure Key Injection: To ensure the key injection from SAM to client cards for contactless cards with protection of Encryption and Message Authentication Code, besides, key(s) may be changed after injection.

ACOS3x eXpress Series Microprocessor Smart Cards

The new ACOS3x eXpress Microprocessor Card is based on the ACOS3 platform, which has met recognizable success worldwide with its proprietary high security yet user-friendly file structures. It comes with the following superior features: Triple-DES (3DES); Crypto-Engine Hardware; Faster processing time; Larger EEPROM memory size of up to 256 KB; and Maximum support of 128 user files. The ACOS3X contains a powerful microprocessor and is fully compatible with other members of the ACOS3 product line. Security via ACOS3X can thus be achieved easily without sacrificing the computation time on cryptogram.

Contactless Near Field Communication (NFC) PC/SC Forum-Certified Reader ACR1252U USB 2.0

The ACR1252U is a NFC Forum–certified PC-linked reader, developed based on 13.56Mhz contactless technology. It has a SAM (Secure Access Module) slot which can be used together with a SAM card for key diversification and mutual authentication, providing high-level security in contactless transactions. Post-deployment firmware upgrade is also supported, eliminating the need for additional hardware modification.

ACR1252U is capable of the three modes of NFC, namely: card reader/writer, card emulation and peer-to-peer communication. It supports ISO 14443 Type A and B cards, MIFARE®, FeliCa, and ISO 18092–compliant NFC tags. It also supports other NFC devices with an access speed of up to 424 Kbps and proximity operating distance of up to 50mm (depending on tag type used). Compliant with both CCID and PC/SC, this plug-and-play USB NFC device allows interoperability with different devices and applications. The AET65 Smart Card Reader with Fingerprint Sensor guarantees security and convenience in a variety of applications. Combining the core of ACS’ ACR38-SAM contact smart card reader and Authentec’s swipe fingerprint sensor in a single device, it creates a more cost-efficient and simplified integration of biometric technology in applications where the accuracy of biometric authentication is necessary to ensure a high level of security. Even developers without an in-depth knowledge of biometrics can integrate fingerprint authentication into smart card-based applications. 
AET65 elevates security by requiring of a user something they have (smart card), something they know (PIN/password) and something they are (fingerprint), before enabling any transaction; limits fingerprint extraction and matching to itself (preventing security attacks associated with PCs); comes with a secure access module (SAM); and offers support for third-party algorithms. The AET65 also enhances simplicity since it does away with databases, servers or network connectivity. Instead, fingerprint templates are stored and encrypted in the smart card, reducing operation components into three (local PC/remote server applications, contact smart cards, and the AET65).
