Device-side Pin Assignments for IU-100, IU-110, and IU-120

Device-side Pin Assignments for IU-100, IU-110, and IU-120 Device-side Pin Assignments for IU-100, IU-110, and IU-120

This information is applicable to the following Synchrotech part numbers.

These USB to serial devices feature DB9 connectors, frequently used in RS-232 applications. RS-422 and RS-485 tend to use different connectors, so speciality cables (e.g. DB9 to Mini Din 8) are often needed to accommodate certain serial peripherals. The above image and following table should be helpful in selecting or designing application specific cables to deploy with the IU-1** series USB to Serial device.

Pin Transmission Signals
RS-422 4-Wire RS-485 2-Wire RS-485
1 Tx- Tx- D-
2 Tx+ Tx+ D+
3 Rx+ Rx+

PCI Express to Serial ATA RAID (SATA/eSATA 6Gb/s) 2/2 Port Host Adapter

Utilizing a high performance x2 PCIe 2.0 connection, the A-331 host adapter is designed for demanding professional end users with throughput of 500MB/s per direction. Providing four 6Gb/s channels, the A-331’s versatility allows configuration as JBOD, RAID 0, RAID 1 or RAID 10. Moreover, the A-331 uses a Marvell 88SE92xx SATA 6G Controller with HyperDuo, allowing deployments of lightning fast SSDs in concert with high capacity HDDs in either Safe or Capacity Modes. Benchmarks of HyperDuo configurations show 80% of SSD performance (PCMark) at 1/3 the cost. The A-331 comes with its four internal SATA 6Gbps ports enabled by default; changing jumper settings allow exchange of up to two of the internal ports to the eSATA ports on the backplane of the card. The host adapter supports the older 1.5 and 3Gbps SATA standards. BIOS level settings are available for most RAID functions, while fine tuning and volume management tasks are handled with the supplied utility software for The Windows, or third party open source software under Linux.
